The TU Matahiko structure entails a leadership team, five Pou Matahiko (assessors) and a Matahiko Advisors Network of over 25 Māori Kaitiaki (mentors) across Aotearoa who provide business advice, mentoring and specialised advice to Māori businesses. Our team will provide three tiers of support: business advice, business mentoring and specialist advice.
Key relationships and partnerships contribute to this success of the programme. Relationships range from Iwi, hapu, and post settlement governance entities, to national affiliates, regional Maori business networks and corporate partners.
Our team of corporate partners will contribute heavily subsidised products and services to each Māori SME enrolled on the TU Matahiko programme. These include, hardware and software, training and upskilling, products and services, alongside licences and subscriptions.
We have existing Community Relationships and Partnerships to achieve efficiency in terms of access to our Maori SME community
Extensive and authentic relationships and partnerships at all levels in the community, including iwi, hapū, post settlement entities, community-based organisations, and Māori business networks, local authorities and economic development agencies are key to the success of delivering this programme. These relationships have been fostered and nurtured over several years.
These community relationships not only provide us with access to a large network of potential participating Maori SME’s, but also provides us with the ability to deliver on our promise through accessibility and scale.
Through our community partnerships across multiple regions, we have access to over 4722 Māori SMEs and whanau enterprises and over 210,000 Māori community members through our Iwi and Maori business networks alone.
We have the Corporate Partnerships in place to achieve the requisite support by way of ‘good will’ given our existing relationships.
Relationships with a broad range of supply partners and incentives from corporate partners will not only support the digitalisation of Māori SMEs but will benefit broader Māori communities. Value provisions include:
Our corporate partners will add value to the eco-system in its entirety through both participating alongside local community providers and into the local community and marae.
We support iwi, hapū and Māori businesses to realise their goals and aspirations using a “kanohi ki te kanohi, pakihiwi ki te pakihiwi/face to face, shoulder to shoulder” approach.
