As demonstrated through our real-life case study, HTK understands how COVID-19 has impacted Māori whānau, SMEs and communities. We also know that digitalising SMEs can generate multiple outcomes for Māori whānau, SMEs and our communities.

Our team, and our organisation is culturally based, and values driven, who understand the issues our people, our communities, and our SMEs face. The structure below outlines our HTK Group team in its existing structure.

HTK Group is a culturally based, values driven Māori social enterprise that provides a range of innovative business support services across Aotearoa to Māori. We support iwi, hapū and Māori businesses to realise their goals and aspirations using a “kanohi ki te kanohi, pakihiwi ki te pakihiwi/face to face, shoulder to shoulder” approach. We don’t just deliver services, we build long term meaningful relationships, we understand the barriers to Māori engagement and participation and how to navigate these challenges.

HTK Group has several offices across Aotearoa, which integrate deep community connections with local manawhenua, Iwi and hapu and marae. To bring our solution to life, we have assembled an experienced team to deploy and implement our model. To add value and accelerate our solution, we have assembled our team of partners from across the country to assist in implementing this solution for Maori, by Maori.

Our team of Iwi and Hapu mandated treaty partners have come together to endorse and assist us in our solution.

Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu make clear in their endorsement that, as the crown treaty partner, any intermediary that seeks to work with our 55,000 Ngāi Tahu whānau members or 1,200+ whānau enterprises (Ngāi Tahu business directory), must understand that while they may be technical experts, we are the cultural experts when it comes to working with our whānau. We expect that an intermediary operating within the Ngāi Tahu boundaries is endorsed by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu. We endorse HTK Group as the intermediary to work with our Ngāi Tahu whānau.

Further endorsement has been provided by Waikato-Tainui, Ngati Kahungunu, Ngati Porou, and Te Kahui Ohanga iwi (The six post settlement governance entities of the east coast)

We have the support and mandate from 9 regional Maori business networks within our focus regions of operations, which exposes us to over 1500 Maori SMEs

Collectively between our Maori business networks and Iwi and Hapu partners, we have access to 4,722 SMEs.

We have also been endorsed and supported by 6 regional economic development agencies within the regions in which we are operating (EDA),

Our national Maori affiliated partners have come together to assist and support our solution. These are T3W (The Maori Tech Network), Ahikomako (National Maori business incubator and accelerator), and Te Huarahi Tika Trust (Maori Spectrum).

We have partnered with the NZIST via Ara and Massey Universities Puhoro STEM Academy to explore ways to build digital capability through an online national platform

We have gained support, incentives and good will from our corporate partners for each SME, that adds further value to our solution of bridging the digital divide for our Maori SMEs. Partners include,
